T4 Reunion, July 2019

This October, it will be 50 years since I started my degree at the University of Sussex. To mark this, we organised a reunion of the 4 men (Fred Levett, Doug Tayloe, Mike Wood, and me) who shared accommodation throughout our 3 years at Sussex.

We and our wives (Jackie, Toni, Sheila and Paulette respectively) met at a hotel in Bramber. We visited the University Campus, where Sally Atkinson from the Alumni Office met us, and a long-standing colleague of Doug, Tim Flowers, showed us round campus and particularly the old BIOLS building (now the John Maynard Smith building). We also went to the Park Village, to see where T4 originated.

We went on to visit Brighton, making pilgrimage to the Commodore on New Steine, where we spent our first year, and to the squalid flat in Devonshire Place where we spent our second.
