Birds on Lunga, June 2021

This album contains photographs taken on a trip to Lunga, the largest of the Treshnish Islands to the west of Mull. Lunga is home to a large colony of puffins, as well as numerous guillemots, razorbills and fulmars. And the inevitable oystercatcher. A benefit of visiting at this time of year is that the puffins have young in the nest to feed, so the adult bids return frequently with beaks full of sand eels: that picture may be a bit hackneyed, but it's surely irresistible!
