Otter, Loch Scridain, June 2021

We had been searching for an otter most of the day, and were heading back to the house. We drove (painfully) slowly along the northern edge of Loch Scridain, peering into each bay and beach in the hope of seeing the tell-tale splash of an otter. Finally, we stopped to look at a heron, and the sandpiper also in the photgraphs. And then we saw the splash. Thankfully, the otter stayed around for a while, obviously fishing, and obligingly climbed out on to the rocks directly in front of us. Memorable.
